The New York Yankees have exercised their $15 million membership choice on right-hander Luis Severino’s contract for 2023.
The Yankees introduced the choice Monday, three days after normal supervisor Brian Cashman stated selecting up Severino’s choice can be an “straightforward” resolution.
“I have not talked to anyone about it but, however he is a very impactful pitcher,” Cashman stated Friday when requested whether or not the Yankees supposed to train Severino’s choice. “So the reply to that will be a straightforward sure.”
Severino, 28, went 7-3 with a 3.18 ERA in 19 begins this previous season, his seventh with the Yankees. The 2-time All-Star missed a lot of the earlier three seasons due to shoulder and elbow accidents.
