Dietary Advantages

Also referred to as cruciferous greens, brassicas are excessive in nutritional vitamins C and Ok, folate, and fiber. In addition they include glucosinolates, which have been proven to have cancer-fighting properties.

“Cruciferous greens present compounds like indole-3-carbinol and sulforaphane, that are wonderful for cleansing,” says Ward. Broccoli sprouts, particularly, are wealthy in sulforaphane.

 

Style

These veggies are likely to have a barely bitter, peppery taste that may be mellowed by cooking.
